A seminar on ‘A Step Towards Digital Bangladesh’ and a prize giving ceremony of the MU ICT fair ’09 held at Metropolitan University Auditorium on the 13th June 2009 which was organized by ICT Society Metropolitan University. The Seminar was presided by Professor. M. Abdul Aziz, Vice Chancellor (in-charge). As the chief guest Professor. Dr. M.A Mottalib, Head Dept. of CIT, Islamic University of Technology, Gazipur was present, Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury, Chairman, BOG, Metropolitan University was present as the Special Guest. The Seminar Paper was presented by Rumel M.S. Rahman Pir, Asst. Prof. ICT Dept. Metropolitan University. Moreover Dr. Zahir Bin Alam, Professor, Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering SUST, Dr. Rashed Talukder, Professor, Dept. of Mathematics SUST and C.M. Mukammel Wahid, Head & Associate Professor of ICT Dept. Metropolitan University were also present at the Seminar and they took part in the conversation. Teachers from the different faculties of the University and students of the University were also present as the audience. Student of CSE-8th Batch Wadia Iqbal conducted the seminar. | The welcoming speech was delivered by the Fair Convener Jakaria Ahmed, Lecturer Dept. of ICT, Metropolitan University. The speakers delivered their speech on the different topics which are related to the different events for the promoting purpose of digital Bangladesh. They are expecting that the Golden Jubilee of the Independence of Bangladesh would be observed in 2021 with a firm target of achieving Digital Bangladesh. | Dr. Mottalib in his speech told that in the building process of Digital Bangladesh lack of efficient Manpower is the prime barrier. So we need to build steps so that we can create efficient Manpower. | Dr. Toufique Rahman Chowdhury in his speech told that our beloved Bangladesh will be successfully converted into digital Bangladesh by 2021 under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Bangladesh which was known to the world as the most corrupted, polluted, as the land of natural calamity and poverty, is going to be known as Digital Bangladesh. He believes that by 2021 Bangladesh will be able to achieve Her goal although there are some mischief mongers who are always trying to mislead the country from the development process as they were doing it since 1971. The budget declaration by the Finance Minister is an encouraging step toward the implementation of the conversion process of Bangladesh to Digital Bangladesh. | Prof. Khandker Mahmudur Rahman, Prof. Shiba Prasad Sen, Prof. Suresh Ranjan Basak and Tanwir Chowdhury, Member BoG Metropolitan University were also present at the Seminar. |
