National Mourning Day marking the 34th death anniversary of Father of the nation Bangobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, observed on August 15, 2009 through a discussion at Metropolitan University. Bangobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated in his house at Dhanmondi in a military putsch on August 15, 1975. The discussion was presided by the Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. M. Abdul Aziz and among others Prof. Shiba Prasad Sen, Prof. Khandker Mahmudur Rahman, Prof. Nandalal Sharma, Barrister M. Arosh Ali, took part in the discussion. They also participated in a discussion where they stressed the need for the execution of the verdict of the Bangobondhu murder case. |
